Nostradamus was a French astrologer, physician, and reputed seer who lived in 16th-century France. He is also known as Michel de Notredame and Nostredame. The details of his life are not always transparent, and they are fiercely debated among modern Nostradamus followers and critics.

As per most of his Biographies, in 1522 he left home to study medicine in Montpellier. Before practicing as a physician throughout southern France he has worked as a professor of medicine. Over the years, with his extraordinary knowledge he gained some fame in his treatment of bubonic plague sufferers.
