Mirzapur Season 3 announced. Know timelines and the probable plot.
Mirzapur Season 2 received a mixed reaction from the audience but that didn’t stop the fans from demanding Mirzapur Season 3. Just like Season 1, Season 2 also ended at a very complex juncture and that left the fans asking for more.
Prime videos was quick to announce Season3 to continue riding on the current wave where almost half of the users who watched Season1, binge-watched Season 2 within 48 hours.
We are not surprised that even the cast of Mirzapur is also eagerly waiting for Mirzapur Season 3. Shweta Tripathi took to Instagram to express how she feels inseparable from her character Golu. She also mentioned that she is also waiting for Season 3.
All said and done Season 2 surpassed Season 1 in many ways. Just 1 week after Season 2 launch the social media was flooded with messages like “what is the Mirzapur Season 3 release date”, “When is Mirzapur season 3 coming?”, “When can I watch Mirzapur Season 3.” The fans are already asking for another Season in quick succession.
Some fans even searched for “Mirzapur episode 3” or “Mirzapur season1 episode 3” or “Mirzapur part 3” to find some information. For all those who have been searching it the wrong way, you got to search for “Mirzapur season 3 release date” and not for episode 3.
While there is no timeline specified by the makers, it is safe to assume that this time around PRime Videos will not take as much time as the previous season. And hence, we hope we will get to see Mirzapur Season 3 in the year 2021 itself.
New records set by Season 2
Even though Season 2 disappointed a few fans, it set a lot of new records of popularity.
1- Almost half of the viewers who completed the series, binge-watched the second season within just 48 hours of its launch, setting a new benchmark.
2- Mirzapur Season 2 was watched in over 180 countries within seven days of its release.
3- Based on the social mentions (within the first 7 days from launch), Mirzapur Season 2 was the most talked-about Indian Origin streaming series to date.
Season 2 also recorded one of the highest completion rates in India as many new characters (and new faces) were introduced. Amongst the new faces Priyanshu Painyuli, Isha Talwar, MM Farouqi (Dadda Tyagi) and Vijay Varma (in a double role) were the most prominent ones. The key difference between Season 1 and Season 2
The entire Season 1 was about the fiefdom of Kaleen Bhaiya and the Tripathi Family over the city of Mirzapur and it was ridden with violence (often unnecessary) and crime. There was a little bit of political angle shown but it was on the sidelines only and the key focus remained on the gangs and crime at a local level.
On the other hand Season 2 was more focused on the dark side of the political system and the nexus between crime and politics.
In the first season, the local gang leaders were shown to have supreme, almost dictatorial, control of the region. The administration had little to no power in front of the Bahubalis. On the contrary, Season 2 made a much-feared Kaleen Bhaiya look small in front of the politicians.
What to expect in Mirzapur Season 3
While Season 2 had crime and politics coming together (Munna – Madhuri getting married), Season 3 will see the politics and crime at loggerheads with each other. It will be a Season of the ultimate bloodbath as Guddu-Golu, sitting on the throne of Mirzapur, will have enough firepower to face any enemy.
At the same time, they will have multiple fronts open to fighting criminal and political battles within and outside Mirzapur. Madhuri Yadav Tripathi
The new Chief Minister and widow of Munna Tripathi will become one of the pillars of the story of Season 3. Her political acumen, as well as her love for Munna, was very evident in Season 2. We think that in Season 3 she will use her political power to take her revenge on Guddu Pandit and Golu Gupta.
Sharad Shukla in Mirzapur Season 3
Sharad Shukla’s character is the one that has perplexed the fans the most in Season 2 of the webseries. The fans are in great suspense on why did Sharad save Akhandanand Tripathi when he had the opportunity to let him die at the hands of Guddu Pandit. Even more pertinently why didn’t he kill the weakened Kaleen Bhaiya himself and claim the throne of Mirzapur?
What is it that he plans to do with Kaleen Bhaiya after saving him from Guddu-Golu, is another riddle that will decide the course of Mirzapur Season 3 story. In a nutshell, Sharad, along with his mother, has one of the strongest hands in this game of cards.
Beena Tripathi in Mirzapur Season 3
Beena Tripathi was the key to bringing down the Tripathi’s rule in Mirzapur. She had her revenge on Satyanand Tripathi and Munna Bhaiya (whom she considered a threat to her infant son) is also dead. However, this doesn’t mean that she will go into the shadows in Season 3.
She has struck a deal with Guddu Pandit that he will hand over the throne of Mirzapur to Beena’s son once he is old enough to handle the empire. Irrespective of the pact and the arrangement based on mutual convenience, it is natural for her to develop insecurities and create problems for Guddu Pandit.
Shatrughan Tyagi AKA Chhotey
A lot of the fans were critical of the fact that the web series showed that even parents of the twins couldn’t differentiate between them. Nonetheless, they found the gullible, lovestruck and simple character of Shatrughan (chotey) Tyagi very likable. It will be interesting to watch if, pretending as his elder brother, Shatrughan will go after Golu for revenge or for love.
Zarina in Mirzapur Season 3
Zarina’s rise in politics from being the CM’s brother’s keep was quite meteoric. Her political aspirations were highlighted when she struck a deal with Madhuri to bring down JP Yadav in lieu of her entry into politics. We will, hopefully, get to witness a lot more about what Zarina is capable of in order to fulfill her aspirations.
