#Toofaan movie teaser and release date. A Storm is coming.
Farhan Akhtar is one of the few method actors in Bollywood. He chooses his movies carefully and then dedicates himself 100% to his character and performance. The result – movies that are a treat to watch, every time. Recently Farhan and Mrunal Thakur dropped the Toofaan movie teaser on Twitter.
From the teaser itself, you can make out that it is going to be an intense movie with some scenes and dialogues that might go viral. Let’s have a look, shall we?
Toofaan movie teaser
Toofan is a sports drama movie starring Farhan Akhtar, Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Raj, Mohan Agashe and others. The movie is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and co-produced by Rakeysh, Farhan, Ritesh Sidhwani and others.
Earlier, Rakeysh and Farhan had teamed up to make ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and we hope to see another epic movie from this team. Farhan Akhtar’s last movie was ‘The Sky is Pink’ which was released in 2019. The fans certainly have high expectations from this movie as they get to see Farhan after almost 1.5 years.
Both Mrunal Thakur and Farhan Akhtar shared the teaser of the movie on March 12 on Twitter almost at the same time.
The teaser shows the mental and physical struggle of Aziz Ali, played by Farhan, a national-level boxer. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, ‘Batla House’ and ‘Super30’ fame actress Mrunal Thakur is portraying the character of Pooja Shah, the love interest of Aziz Ali.
Celeb reactions
Many celebrities lauded the teaser and set the expectations high with all the praise they showered for the movie and Farhan’s performance. Hrithik Roshan was one of the first celebs to tweet about the teaser and he didn’t mince any words to praise it.
Soon after Hrithik, Shahrukh Khan also tweeted about the movie and it was promptly retweeted by Prime Videos. SRK also quoted the following verse from Jagan Nath Azad in his tweet
“Kinare hi se Toofan ka tamasha dekhne wale,
Kinare se kabhie andaza-e-Toofan nahi hota“
It was interesting to see that celebrity boxer Vijender Singh also appreciated the teaser and thanked Farhan for putting boxing on the map. In reply, Farhan praised Vijender and gave the credit back to him and every other boxer who represented India.
There were other Bollywood celebs and critics like Kunal Kohli, Alia Bhat, Priyanka Chopra, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Kapil Sharma, Gulshan Grover, Vivek Oberoi, Vir Das, Diana Penty, etc also who cheered for the team and admired the teaser.
Toofaan movie release date
Even before the teaser was out, Paresh Rawal tweeted the release date of Toofaan movie. It is set to premiere on May 21, 2021 on Prime Videos.
The producers also confirmed that the movie will be released in the theaters on 18th Sep 2021. And that leaves us with an enigma on whether to watch it on Prime Videos or wait till September to enjoy it on the big screen. I don’t know about you but I am going to watch it on Prime Videos as soon as it releases and if I enjoy it then I’d love to watch it again in the theater with all the sound effects and big screen.
With Saina and ’83 also releasing soon, it seems that Bollywood has developed a new taste for sports movies. Since this is the second sports movie performance from Farhan, it is bound to get compared with ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag‘.
At the same time, it is bound to get compared with other sports movies like Sultan, Dangal, Chak de from the 3 Khans of Bollywood. We hope and wish that Farhan is able to outshine his own performance and set a new bar.
