Places with the funniest name

There is always a reason behind naming a City/Road/Street. Some are named after their ruler, some after a river and some others are named after an important event, etc. People love to name a city based on the above and if that’s a name they don’t like the name then the administration simply changes the name. But once in a while, you come across a city name that makes you wonder why the name still persists.

After reading the names of the places that are featured in this list you might think that why in God’s name would anyone give such a name to a place.

1. Butt Hole Road

Why not start with our very own “Butt Hole”, I mean “Butt Hole Road”, cheeky, I know!

Butt Hole Road was a street in Conisbrough, UK, “but” its residents had the name changed to “Archers Way”. Talk about some real party-poopers.

2. Embarrass

Embarrass is an unincorporated community in Embarrass Township, Minnesota, United States. The name was given by a French Fur Trader derived from a french word Embarrass meaning “to hinder with obstacles or difficulties”.

Oh, man! That’s a bit too deep! But let us tell you that having an embarrassing moment in this place is totally normal.

3. Bap (Baap)

In the dry, dehydrated land of Rajasthan, India, there is the ‘Bap’ ruling over every household and the reason being “Bap Bap Hota Hai”. Do remember people.

4. Moron

“Scientists say the world is made up of Protons, Neutron and Electrons. Hell, they forgot to mention Morons!”

Lame right? Morón de la Frontera is a Spanish town in Seville province, Andalusia. While I just couldn’t stop laughing, a quick search on google translate told me that ‘moron’ in Spanish means a hummock/hillock.

5. Intercourse

Ummm..!! Let us all get back to our senses first… Okay.

Intercourse is an unincorporated village in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Intercourse is a popular site for tourists because of its location and its sexually suggestive name. We totally agree with the second point. But if you are visiting, don’t get your hopes up, people.

6. Lailunga

Lailunga is a village panchayat located in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh state, India.

Here there are two pet dialogues of the locals:
“Teri keh ke lunga” and “Keh k lene mein woh mazaa kahan jo chheen k lene mein hai”. I hope you got that both these lines are made up, by us 🙂

7. Middlefart

What’s that smell fellas? Can you smell it? (In Dwayne Rock Johnson’s voice).

Middelfart is a town in central Denmark. Okay, cool! But here we are thinking why Middlefart and why not Sidefart or just fart! I mean anus is obviously located in the middle of everybody. Let it go… Ohhh…Feeling lighter.

P.S. I am also seeing a Transformer’s face instead of the wheel in the picture above. Am I also getting crazier like the city names.!!

8. Titty Ho

To all you single guys, our condolences, we all feel for you; as in not feel-feel but a special sympathy, empathy, homeopathy, allopathy, and every pathy possible.

Titty Ho is a street name in Raunds, Wellingborough, UK. Residents of this street can wear a t-shirt with “Titty Lovers” without feeling awkward.

9. Bhosari

Before anyone of you gets offended, let us tell you that Bhosari is a Bus Terminal somewhere in Maharastra, India.

If I have not known, I would have bet my money that this Terminal is in Delhi as this type of welcoming is expected in Delhi; the more bad words in your sentences the closer you are to your fellow mate.

10. Accident

Welcome to Accident! The feeling is “scarring” than welcoming. You saw how I played with the word “scare”! Cool isn’t it? No..? Okay, then moving forward.

Accident is a town in Garrett County, Maryland, United States. Info noted!
Now imagine that you are arriving at this place and your car starts breaking down. So, welcome to Accident. What a coincidence, don’t you think?
