Nike Go FlyEase launch – First-ever handsfree shoes
Nike is known for its cutting edge technology when it comes to performance and comfort. We are used to many innovations coming out of the house of Nike but this one comes as quite a delight. Nike recently launched Go FlyEase shoes that can be worn without touching. Being dubbed as handsfree shoes it has some great design innovation.
It has come at a time when people are sanitizing their hands after touching shoes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so we’d say it’s very well-timed as well.
Nike Go FlyEase availability and price
The handsfree shoe is intuitive — easy to wear on, easy to take it off — and with such natural ease. This just goes on to show how design, innovation and engineering can meet to create things that the world needs.
The shoe is listed at a price of $120 (Rs. 8750 approx) on the Nike website but it isn’t available for purchase yet. The Nike GO FlyEase is available initially via invite for select Nike Members, with broader consumer availability planned for later this year.
Nike Go FlyEase design
As per Nike, the shoe’s smooth motion is derived from a bi-stable hinge that enables the shoe to be secure in fully open and fully closed states. This duality allows another signature detail: the Nike GO FlyEase tensioner.
The tensioner’s unique flexibility super-charges an action many might take for granted (kicking off a shoe) and completely reimagines this movement as the basis for the accessible and empowering design.
The unique design is so simple and appealing that I wonder why they didn’t think of it earlier. As a matter of fact, now that it is there, it might actually become a new normal.
This design might just become another basic expectation from any shoe, the way we expect A/C in a car that was not a feature that every car had back in the 80s.
In a statement released by Nike, the company emphasized that “Sophisticated, accessible solutions, like those in Nike GO FlyEase, are emblematic of the ‘better is temporary’ mentality that drives Nike FlyEase technology.
Since its debut, the technologies have been employed in numerous footwear styles across basketball, running and sportswear. Each successive design balances the rigor of FlyEase criteria with unwavering performance standards.
I am pretty sure that this amazing shoe will find many takers in India as well. It provides style, comfort and safety from infections and therefore it is bound to become one of the most popular inventions from Nike.
