NIRF Rankings – These Colleges Topped In Their Category

The National Institutional Ranking Framework(NIRF) is a method adopted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. It was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015. On July 15, at 11 am, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the NIRF Ranking 2022 listing the top institutes and universities in India this year. About NIRF Ranking

NIRF India Rankings 2022 is set to be announced for ten categories — Overall, Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Colleges, Medical, Dental, Architecture, Law, and Research. The broad categories adopted to rank institutes, as per the NIRF website, are Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity and Peer Perception. However, the weighted average for each of the categories differs with categories.

India has over 45,000-degree colleges, over 1000 universities and around 1500 top institutes. The number of Indian institutes registered for the NIRF rankings has steadily increased over the years. In 2020, 3,800 institutes participated in NIRF Rankings; in 2021, the number was 6000, and in 2022, the number is 7,254.
