#4 – Choose more stable players over high scorers but unreliable ones
It is always a good strategy to choose more reliable batsmen and bowlers who have a good consistent track record in the IPL. Those who score high but don’t perform all the time should be avoided. Remember that cricket is a game of averages and players with good averages will save your day over the flashy ones who might or might not perform.
Similarly, bowlers who take wickets but also give away a lot of runs should be left out. Instead, you can choose bowlers who get fewer wickets but are very economical. There are good points for dot balls so someone who can keep the batsmen restrained can give you good points even without taking many wickets.
#5 – Choosing the Power Player for your fantasy cricket team
You should prefer a bowler while choosing your power player. A mistake on the part of a batsman will cost him his wicket. There are no second chances for a batsman. However, a bowler is going to bowl all 4 overs and therefore he has ample opportunity to get back in the game and take control.
If a weak team is chasing then from the team batting first choose a bowler who bowls in death overs. Dot balls and wickets in the death overs might give you windfall gains.

While you must also look at their bowling skills and wicket stats, you must go for all-rounders who come to bat early. It is important that they have a high strike-rate as compared to others and usually bow at least 2 overs in an inning.
