Gangubai Kathiawadi Movie Teaser, Release date and her story!
2021 has begun and it is going to be one busy year for the box office as Central Government has allowed 100 percent occupancy in theatres. All the most awaited movies will be releasing this year, and they will be releasing with a bang. One of the newest trailers that dropped this week is the Gangubai Kathiawadi movie. As expected, the movie’s highlight is Alia Bhatt, in a role like you’ve never seen her do before.
Gangubai Kathiawadi Movie Release Date
Alia posted on her Instagram page on February 24, to finally reveal the release date of the movie as July 30, 2021.
There has been a lot of hype about this movie for the past 1 year. We have heard from various sources that Alia Bhat’s performance is breathtaking. However, there was no confirmation about the release date till Alia Bhatt posted on Instagram about it. She also shared the new poster of the movie.
Alia simply captioned the post, “in cinemas 30th July 2021 (sic),” along with two heart emojis.
In this movie, she will be playing the role of a mafia queen. The movie’s story is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. The defiant pose in the poster says a lot about the kind of role that Alia has played in the movie. This movie could be the next blockbuster from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s stable.
Gangubai Kathiawadi Movie Teaser Released!
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst announced on Twitter, that the teaser of the movie will be released the next day. Interestingly, the teaser was released on February 24th as it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday. Bhansali is the director and co-producer of the Gangubai Kathiawadi movie.

The story of Gangubai
Gangubai Kathiawadi, a native of Gujarat came to Mumbai with her boyfriend who ended up betraying her. She was sold off and then forced into prostitution. When she realized that there is no escape from this life, she decided to take things into her hands.
She decided to beat the system at its own game and built ties with the underworld criminals. Despite the odds stacked against her, she continued her journey of defiance. As she rose within the mafia ranks she eventually got a portion of South Mumbai as her territory.
She then went on to become the owner of a brothel. Thereafter, she helped in uplifting the women and orphans in the red light area of Mumbai, Kamathipura.
The movie seems to carry a strong social message about the condition of women in India. At the same time, it also shows the strength of a single woman once she decides to fight her way out of a situation.
