FAU-G game Launched. All you need to know!

The much-hyped and much-awaited made-in-India FAU-G game was launched on the morning of 26 January 2021. The launch of the game was scheduled earlier but nCore, the makers of the game, later decided to release it on Republic Day to celebrate the spirit of patriotism.

As expected, FAU-G is focused on the clash between the Indian and Chinese army at Galwan Valley last year. The objective of the game is to fight the enemy (Chinese Army) and rescue the Indian soldiers stuck on the other side. Many gamers were waiting for FAU-G game thinking that it is a substitute for PUBG, however, the makers of the game have clearly specified that the game is not in competition with PUBG.

Game launch announcement

Akshay Kumar, the brand ambassador for the game, tweeted on Tuesday morning announcing the release of the game.

The game has been released only for Android users as of now, so iOS users will have to wait. nCore hasn’t spelled out any release date for iOS version which makes us believe that the wait is going to be a long one.

FAU-G game story

You can download the FAU-G game from the Android Play Store here. The current version of the game seems to be a basic one and we can expect new modes, weapons, avatars and many other features in future upgrades over the next few months.

To give you better visibility about the game graphics, controls, etc. here’s a video of the gameplay.

The current game is launched in 3 languages Hindi, English and Tamil but as per nCore, the game will soon be available in more Indian languages. The game is only single-player and available in story mode only as of now.

FAU-G game review

The company seems to be treading its way too cautiously as they have released a version so simple that there is a risk of failure as well. In the present version, there are no guns or weapons, although as you make progress through the game you may pick up weapons from the enemy after killing them.

In my opinion, it all seems like too much hype created for something that’s too timid to be exciting. Even though nCore now claims that the game isn’t competing with PUBG, they did take full advantage of the PUBG band and used it to promote FAU-G. I think they should not shy away from taking on any game as a competition and build a world-class game. It will take time, it always does, but slowly and steadily they can get there.

FAU-G game play

The makers should have waited for some more time and launched a version that would have matched all the noise and publicity that was created around it. The number of installs on the Google Play Store takes time to get updated but the game seems to be garnering downloads at a fast pace. There are more than 175,000 reviews for the game already.

User Reviews

We can already see a lot of negative reviews coming on the play store listing of the game. The positive reviews are mostly about patriotism and not so much about the game itself, so I would say that the company’s tactic to release the game on 26th January has worked well.

The game was touted as India’s answer to PUBG and therefore we had a much higher expectation of what it will deliver. However, not all is lost and we would wish the nCore team all the best to make it the best game on the play store.
