What is Kentucky Coffee?

Kentucky coffee is an after-dinner drink made with bourbon, cream, sugar, and strongly brewed coffee. It is a smoother, sweeter, subtler cousin to traditional Irish coffee, which is made with strongly brewed fresh coffee, sugar, cream, and whiskey.

Kentucky Coffee- Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 tbsp fine Bourbon whiskey
  • 10 tsp brown granulated sugar
  • 4 cups of hot coffee
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Method:

  • To begin making this delicious whiskey coffee recipe, pre-heat 4 cups. You can also use Irish coffee glasses to add an elegant touch.
  • Pour 4 tbsp bourbon whiskey and 2 1/2 tsp brown granulated sugar into the heated cups and muddle until the sugar and whiskey dissolve nicely.
  • Meanwhile, prepare a hot cup of coffee in a vessel. Fill each heated cup with 1 cup of hot coffee.
  • Then, gently pour 1 cup of heavy cream into each cup, followed by 2 tbsp heavy cream. If you don’t stir, the blend will have a rich flavour. You can also serve with whipped cream (optional).
  • Sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg on top of the drink and serve.
