Reality shows have been a great platform for many participants to showcase their talent. Many participants got name, fame and a lot of success through these platforms and now they are ruling millions of hearts in their own way. The beauty of these reality shows is that you don’t have to be a winner to rule the hearts of your fans. Once the limelight is on you, it is up to your talent and hard work to make a mark for yourself in the industry.

Here are a few celebrities, who made it big after participating in a reality show.

Neha Kakkar

Neha Kakkar is an Indian playback singer. She has participated in the second season of the singing reality show, Indian Idol, but unfortunately, she was eliminated early in the show. However, five years post Indian Idol, Kakkar failed to gather any work in Bollywood films which she believed is due to her “negligence in pleading the music directors and producers, unlike the rest of participants from the show”. But she managed to get away with her lot of limelight and prominence.

After struggling several years in her career, she made her Bollywood debut as a chorus singer in the film Meerabai Not Out in 2008. Then in 2012 “Second Hand Jawani”, in 2014 “Sunny Sunny” and “London Thumakda”, in 2015 “Aao Raja” and the success continues. Neha is also a judge in many reality shows.

Neha Kakkar is now rocking in Bollywood. Her looks and voice is so famous and she has a huge fan following on social media.

Shakti Mohan

Shakti Mohan is an Indian dancer and television personality. She has recently completed 10 years in the entertainment industry. She first came into the spotlight when she won the dance reality show Dance India Dance, Zee TV’s dance reality show. Consistently she has been a captain in Dance Plus from 2015 to 2019.

In 2016 she opened her own dance studio called Nritya Shakti. She has recently launched her own makeup brand – NY Bae X Shakti

Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma is an Indian stand-up comedian, television presenter, actor and producer known for hosting The Kapil Sharma Show. He won the heart of millions of audiences from this show.

Kapil rose to fame after winning the comedy reality television show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007.

He has also hosted the television comedy shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil and Family Time with Kapil.

Rannvijay Singh

Rannvijay Singh is an Indian actor, television personality and VJ. He has earned the respect of many veteran actors for leaving his military job to fulfill his dream to become an actor. He was the winner of the first season of MTV Roadies (2003), which he currently hosts and directs, he is also a VJ for MTV India.

He also hosted the Scooty Pep Teen Diva show and the first season of Splitsvilla.

Pankaj Bhadouria

Pankaj Bhadouria became the first-ever Masterchef in India, after which her life completely transformed. The chef was earlier a school teacher and had left a 15-year-old job to take part in the show. Bhadouria started working on nine other television shows.

She established a culinary academy, which became an instant success and is one of the most prestigious academies in culinary sciences today.

Prince Narula

Prince Narula, an Indian model and actor, is known as the reality show king who has many of the reality shows the winning trophy to his name.

In 2015, he was the winner of MTV Roadies 12 and MTV Splitsvilla 8. He was declared as the winner of Bigg Boss 9. He was last seen in the dance competition show Nach Baliye 9 with his wife Yuvika Chaudhary winning the trophy yet again. Now in 2020, he is Gang Leader in MTV Roadies 17.

Sunil Pal

Sunil Pal is an Indian comedian, actor and voice actor. He won the reality show “Great Indian Laughter Challenge” in 2005. Now he is an actor and a host. He came in many films and reality TV shows.

Abhijeet Sawant

The winner of the first season of Indian Idol is a playback singer now and often acts in films and hosts TV shows. Abhijeet Sawant was a finalist of Clinic All Clear Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar on Star Plus in 2008.

Raghav Juyal

Raghav Juyal is an Indian dancer, choreographer, actor and television presenter. He has been called King of Slow Motion.

He was the finalist in Zee TV dance reality shows such as Dance India Dance Season 3. Later he appeared on DID Li’l Masters 2 as skipper for the team Raghav Ke Rockstars and also in Dance Ke Superkids where his team was declared the winner under his captainship.
