A lot of us aim high in life. Some achieve them, while some do not. However, there is part of people in this society who even after achieving their dreams quit them to serve their nation or its people. Today, we are going to learn about one such hero Pratigya Parihar who gave up on UPSC and joined politics to serve the village people.

Pratigya Parihar, the sister of IAS Tapasya Parihar, who made headlines for opposing the principle of giving away daughters as a prize during the marriage, has vowed to forego UPSC preparation in order to build the village.

Pratigya Parihar, who was preparing to become an IAS officer like her elder sister, decided to quit her studies and enter politics after witnessing the problems faced by the people of her village Jowa in the Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the UPSC aspirant made this decision while living in her village. She defeated the panchayat with the assistance of her uncle Vinayak Parihar.
