IPL Winning Team Predicted by Cricket Giants
After a long delay, IPL2020 has finally arrived and the adrenaline is soaring as is the anxiety about which team is going to pick the trophy. The fans of respective teams have been debating and arguing amongst themselves about the winning chances of their team. But it isn’t just the fans who are involved in this debate and predicting the winning team, even the renowned cricketers have come out with their own favourites.
From Sunil Gavaskar, Brett lee to Kevin Pietersen, many cricket gurus have openly predicted the winning team as per them. Let’s have a look at who all are rooting for which team as the winner of IPL2020.
Sunil Gavaskar
As per the legendary former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar, Mumbai Indians are all set to win IPL2020. If MI wins this edition of IPL then they will be lifting the cup for the 5th time and with Rohit Sharma leading the team they seem to be a very strong contender.
Mumbai Indians have won the IPL 4 times which means that they know how to come out of difficult situations. That is why I feel MI shouldn’t find it too difficult to win the championship again this year. As I said, experience is one of their biggest strengths. Secondly, the talent that they have in their squad and even the way they picked new players in the 2019 auction… They have applied their brains in picking the new players. It seems like they have everything in the squad.
Sunil Gavaskar
The Indian cricket legend also identified the challenge areas for Mumbai Indians as lack of experienced spinners and an unstable middle-order. However, he seems confident of their win on the back of big-hitters such as Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.
Brett Lee
Unlike a vocal Sunil Gavaskar, Binga (Brett Lee) has been a little conservative in his prediction but that did not stop him from naming Chennai Super Kings as his favourites to win the 2020 edition of IPL. One of the fastest pacers in the world replied to a fan mentioning that he would go with CSK as the most probable winner of IPL.
Even though CSK is facing challenges in terms of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulling out of the current season and 13 staff members testing positive for Covid-19, Brett lee has reposed his faith in MS Dhoni and his boys to make it to the final and claim the title.
Kevin Pietersen
Kevin Pietersen took to Instagram to announce his favourites for the IPL title this year and it isn’t a surprise.
Pietersen has represented Delhi Franchise for a few IPL seasons and it seems his love for Delhi has surpassed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The former England captain has represented Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Deccan Chargers in the past.
