Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric SUV Launched in India, Claimed To Get Over 400 km Range
Volvo Cars India launched its pure electric SUV XC40 Recharge in the country on Tuesday. The model is India’s first locally assembled luxury electric vehicle. The electric SUV will be built at the company’s Hosakote plant in Karnataka, near Bengaluru.
About Volvo XC40
The Volvo XC40 Recharge pure electric SUV is propelled by a Twin Motor, Permanent All-Wheel Drive system that generates 408 horsepower and 660 Newton-meters of torque. The car has a top speed of 180 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The model is said to have a range of more than 400 kilometres on a single charge.
The 78kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the XC40 Recharge. Volvo claims that it can travel 418 kilometres on a single charge (WLTP cycle). Furthermore, a 150kW DC fast charger can charge this Swedish luxury electric SUV from 0 to 80% in just 40 minutes, whereas a standard 11kW AC charger takes around eight hours.
Cost and Launch
Volvo XC40 Recharge pure electric SUV in India at Rs 55.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The pre-bookings for the Volvo XC40 Recharge SUV will begin from July 27 (tomorrow) at a refundable amount of Rs 50,000. Interested buyers can place orders and make payments online directly on the Volvo Car India website.
The prices for the SUV include 3 years comprehensive car warranty, 8 years battery warranty, 4 years subscription to digital services and 1 wall box charger (11 kW) through a third party.
