Sun Tan: 5 home remedies to get rid of tanning

Summer is great until you look in the mirror and realise your skin is two or more shades darker. The sun not only causes dark spots and hyperpigmentation problems but also depletes the skin’s natural moisture. Long-term UV exposure can cause our skin to appear pale and dull. But we’re not here to discuss the problems; we’re here to offer some solutions. Here are some home remedies to help you get rid of that pesky tan.

Top 5 Home Remedies For Tanning

Lemon Juice And Honey

You can apply a few drops of lemon juice mixed with honey to your face. You can wear the mask for approximately 30 minutes. Then rinse with cold water and a mild cleanser. You can also make a scrub with sugar. It will not only help remove tan but will also remove dead skin cells. Lemon juice has a bleaching effect, and the abundant vitamin C helps remove tan quickly while also lightening acne scars. If you have dry skin, avoid applying lemon directly to your face.

Multani Mitti

To make a fine paste, combine earth’s fuller, also known as Multani Mitti, and organic rose water. Allow it to dry after applying this mask to your face and affected areas. Then, rinse it with cold water and a mild cleanser. Multani Mitti not only removes tans but also soothes sunburned skin and makes it look radiant. Other pastes can be made by adding milk, lemon juice, tomato juice, or turmeric. Make sure to combine the appropriate ingredients and not all of them at once.

Coconut Milk

You can apply fresh organic coconut milk to your face and neck by dabbing a cotton cloth or cotton in it. Allow it to sit on your face until it is completely absorbed, then wash it away with a gentle cleanser. Coconut milk not only removes tan but also hydrates the skin and helps it regain lost moisture. Because of the presence of mild acids and vitamin C, aids in the removal of tan.

Oatmeal And Buttermilk

Oatmeal is an excellent exfoliant and skin cleanser. Buttermilk contains lactic acid, which helps to remove tan, soften the skin, and improve skin tone. Oatmeal is also an important component in the traditional Ayurvedic recipe for Ubtan. Soak 2 teaspoons of oats or oatmeal in half a cup of water for 5 minutes. Mix in 2-3 teaspoons of fresh, unsweetened buttermilk. You can also add honey to make the pack more moisturising. Combine these ingredients to make a paste, then apply it to your face, neck, arms, and other tanning-affected areas. Rub in a circular motion and leave for 20 minutes. Remove to reveal fresher, brighter-looking skin.

This turmeric face pack is ideal for gently exfoliating dead skin cells and removing sunburn. Turmeric can combat UV rays and reduce the effect of tanning on your skin. Two tablespoons of Bengal gramme flour (besan), a pinch of turmeric, some milk, and one tablespoon of rose water. Apply this pack to your tanned skin and leave it on for about 20 minutes before washing your face with cold water. You can also gently massage your face by putting some water on the dried face pack.
