Brahmastra – India’s first superhero movie that doesn’t let you down.

Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva is a prime example of ambition meeting vision. Both are practically hollow without the other, and thankfully, Ayan Mukerji’s film manages to bring this combination of aspiration and imagination to life on the big screen. Overall, film viewing is a subjective experience, with most audiences preferring one aspect of the film over another. This Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt film, on the other hand, should be seen for the overall impact it has on the viewer.

Brahmastra Review

Set in modern times, it primarily tells the story of Brahmastra, the most powerful weapon, with a love story intertwined in a battle of good and bad, right and wrong, and, most importantly, desire and responsibility. Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor), a DJ, is aware of his abilities but chooses to conceal them within himself. The lonely orphan meets Isha (Alia Bhatt) and decides to live a normal life. Despite his disinclination, destiny leads him on an adventure of power and passion, as well as acceptance and realisation.

Performance

The lead actors, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, are adorable on screen and tried to carry the entire film on their shoulders with their performances. While Ranbir Kapoor gave his all, Alia also impressed everyone with her performance. Legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Shah Rukh Khan perform admirably in extended key cameo roles. Mouni Roy’s portrayal of an evil lady works well. Other padding artists and children who played key roles performed admirably.

The VFX are non-stop, the music is relentless in its desire to bludgeon us into submission, and we are left yearning for magic. The action sequences are well choreographed and performed. Even if you watch these without any suspense or sense of urgency, they are still entertaining.
