Bollywood is an integral part of our life. Other than watching the #movies, we tend to take away a lot from Bollywood. From following the fashion, adapting hairstyles, copying gait, mannerisms to the way these actors speak, we absorb a lot from #Bollywood than we realise. Movie dialogues are just another thing that we love to use in our daily life.

But not all #dialogues become so famous that they become a part of our daily lingo. It takes exceptional writing, a situation that is relatable and great dialogue delivery to make a mark in the minds and hearts of the audience. We bring to you some of these iconic dialogues that are now etched in our memory.

Yeh bachchon ke khelne ki cheez nahi, haath kat jaaye to khoon nikal aata hai…” – Raja (Raj Kumar), Waqt

Joh main bolta hoon woh main karta hoon … joh main nahi bolta woh main definitely karta hoon..” – Vikram (Akshay Kumar), Rowdy Rathore

One of the famous dialogues of Rowdy Rathore, a film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala.

Ek bar joh maine commitment kar di … uske baad toh main khud ki bhi nahi sunta” – Radhe (Salman Khan), Wanted

Wanted, a film directed by Prabhu Deva in 2009. This dialogue from Salman Khan became as much of a craze as the movie itself. The dialogue found a natural way in college and office conversations and became a meme favorite.

Rishte mein toh hum tumhare baap lagte hai aur naam hai Shahenshah” – Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan), Shahenshah

Shahenshah, a film directed by Tinnu Anand in 1988 where Amitabh Bachchan portrayed the role of a corrupt police officer who turned into a vigilante by night. The dialogue was an instant hit with the audience and was adopted quickly in everyday conversations.

Mere Karan Arjun Aayenge. Zameen Ki Chaati Phad Ke Aayenge, Aasman Ka Seena Cheer Ke Aayenge” – Durga (Rakhee), Karan Arjun

Karan Arjun, a film directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan in 1995. This dialogue has been a favorite of Hindi stand-up comics and also used by people commonly while waiting for others or to show expectations from others.

Ek chutki sindoor ki keemat tum kya jaano Ramesh Babu” – Shanti (Deepika Padukone), Om Shanti Om

Om Shanti Om, a film directed by Farah Khan in 2007 and was produced and presented by Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri Khan under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment. This dialogue was actually a part of another movie within the movie enacted by Deepika who was playing an actress in the movie.

“Aap convince hogaye ya main aur bolun?“- Geet Dhillon (Kareena kapoor), Jab We Met

Jab We Met, a film directed by Imtiaz Ali in 2007 and produced by Dhilin Mehta under Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. This super verbose character of Kareena was adored by girls and they copied everything from her dress, looks, bubbly charm and even dialogues.

  • Jali ko aag kehte hain, bhuji ko raakh kehte hain … jis raakh se barood bane, usse Vishwanath kehte hain” – Vishwanath (Shatrughan Sinha), Vishwanath 
  • Babu Moshai Zindagi badi honi chahiye lambi nahi” – Anand (Rajesh Khanna), Anand
  • Ek machhar sala aadmi ko hijda bana deta hai!” – Yeshwant Lohar (Nana Patekar), Yeshwant
  • Thappad se darr nahi lagta sahab … pyar se lagta hai” – Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), Dabangg
  • “Mere Paas Maa Hai” – Ravi (Shashi Kapoor), Deewaar
  • Khamooooosh” – (Shatrughan Sinha), Badla
  • Filmein sirf teen cheezo ke wajah se chalti hai…entertainment, entertainment, entertainment…aur main entertainment hoon” – Reshma (Vidya Balan), The Dirty Picture
  • Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin … namumkin hai” – Vijay (Shah Rukh Khan), Don
