Indian Medal Winners in Commonwealth Games so far.

Birmingham, England, is currently hosting the Commonwealth Games 2022. The Indian team has already collected 18 medals, including five gold, six silver, and seven bronze. This is a proud moment for all Indians! Let’s take a quick look at all of the medals won by for at the 2022 CWG.

India’s medal winners

Mirabai Chanu led a four-medal count on Saturday with her gold medal in the women’s 49kg event. Weightlifter Achinta Sheuli (73kg) lived up to his billing on Sunday, winning India’s third gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier in the day, 19-year-old Jeremy Lalrinnunga won the men’s 67kg category by lifting a total of 300kg in Snatch and Clean & Jerk. Lalrinnunga also set a new Games record in Snatch with a 140kg lift. The Indian women’s Lawn Bowls team and the Indian men’s Table Tennis team also won gold.

Saurav Ghosal made history by winning India’s first-ever singles squash medal at the Commonwealth Games. Ghosal defeated former world number one James Willstrop of England 11-6, 11-1, and 11-4. Later that evening, Tejaswin Shankar won bronze in the men’s high jump, and Gurdeep Singh finished India’s weightlifting campaign with a bronze medal in the +109kg event.
